Jan 19 (Sun)  St. Mary’s Church Collinwood SLOVENIAN SCHOOL ANNUAL BENEFIT DINNER will be on Sunday, January 19th. This year a wienerschnitzel dinner will be served in the parish hall from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Donation for the dinner is $16 for adults and $8 for children. Tickets may be purchased from Slovenian School parents and also at the door on the day of the dinner. Everyone is very welcome. All proceeds help with the operation and activities of the school. / KOSILO NAŠE SLOVENSKE ŠOLE bo v nedeljo 19. januarja Letos bodo servirali dunajske zrezke s prilogo v župnijski dvorani od 11:00 do 1:00 popoldan. Dar za kosilo je $16 za odrasle in $8 za otroke. Vstopnice za kosilo dobite pri starših učencev ali pri vratih na dan kosila.Ves dohodek pomaga delovanju in aktivnosti Slovenske šole. Vsi ste lepo vabljeni.

The PRISTAVSKA NOČ BANQUET will be held on Saturday, January 25th, 2020 at the Slovenian National Home on St. Clair Ave. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:45 p.m. Donation for the dinner is $45. The Alpine Sextet will play for your listening and dancing pleasure. To reserve a table or individual tickets, please call Ursi (Wein) Prosen at 216-233-3689. All proceeds of this event help the upkeep of Slovenska Pristava. PRISTAVSKA NOČ. Tradicionalen ples in zabava Pristavska noč bo v soboto 25. januarja 2020 v Slovenskem narodnem domu na St. Clair Avenue. Začetek je ob 5:30 uri in večerja ob 6:45 uri. Cena za večerjo je $45. Feb 2 (Sun) It is time to start thinking Super Bowl. It is a KSKJLife Matching Funds benefit put on by KSKJ Lodge #146. The beneficiary this year is Joseph’s House of Cleveland. Doors open @ 5:30. As always, it will be at St. Mary’s School Cafeteria, 15519 Holmes Ave., Cleveland OH 44110. The game will be on the big, big screen. Tickets cost $30 and the purchase includes one square on the main board, food, and beverages. Winner does not need to be present. Feb. 22 (Sat.) Cleveland Kurentovanje Parade & Festival – www.slovenianhome.com/kurentovanje#!  Kurentovanje is the Slovenian Mardi Gras festival of spring. The noise of the Kurents’ bells chase away winter and ring in the beginning of spring. April 19 (Sun.) – The Canadian Slovenian Historical Society will host a luncheon and program about the Slovenian Exodus of May 1945 - at Browns Line in Toronto.

April 26 (Sun.) Korotan’s spring concert will include commemoration of the passing of 75 years since the historical events which we now call the Viktring Tragedy - the cantata “Pozdravljena Zemlja” composed by Metod Milač to the lyrics written by Pavle Borštnik. Rehearsals will begin on Sunday, January 19 at 6:00 PM in St. Mary’s Hall. The Director of Orchestral Activities for the Hawaii Youth Symphony Joseph Stepec will be conducting the piece. July 10-12 Slovenefest www.slovenefest.com Slovenefest is an annual celebration of Slovenian culture. Slovenefest, a three-day event held the second weekend of July at the SNPJ Recreation Center in the Borough of SNPJ, PA, brings together thousands to enjoy the food, music, culture and fun of Slovenia. There’s never a dull moment at Slovenefest – the entertainment runs continuously from noon until late at night. Special entertainment for children is arranged throughout the weekend. Camping facilities and RV hookups are available, parking is free, and there is access to a first-aid tent.

July 18 (Sat) Oktoberfest in July returns to Willoughby’s Immaculate Conception Church, The festival features carnival rides, gaming, daily auctions, live music by the Joey Tomsick Orchestra. You can’t have an Oktoberfest without a little Na Golici.

Aug. 14 – 16 (Fri. – Sun.) National Convention of Catholic Order of Foresters-Cleveland-Aug 2020—will have its National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio. St. Vitus Church, will be the host church for its Corporate Mass on Aug. 15, 2020, the Feast of The Assumption, at an 8:30AM Mass.

Aug 30 (Sun) VISIT the Slovenian Cultural Garden – Cleveland Cultural Gardens’ 75th annual One World Day One World Day | The official event of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation since 1945 the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation has celebrated One World Day in the Gardens. This annual event reflects the theme of the Gardens: “Peace through Mutual Understanding.” One World Day is the highlight of summer events in the Gardens and the occasion at which all the Gardens get together to celebrate as one. Events include a Parade of Flags, a naturalization ceremony, cultural performances, entertainment, gardens exhibitors, authentic diverse ethnic food, guided Lolly the Trolley Tours, children’s activities, and more.

Oct. 18 (Sun.) Glasbena Matica Slovenian Singing Society celebrates its 90th anniversary season, at 3 p.m., in St. Mary’s Social Hall, Cleveland.
