Feb 18 (Tue)  St Vitus Parish STRUDEL MAKING. after the 7:45 a.m. morning Mass, we will begin making strudel for the upcoming fish fries. Anyone who could come and help with apple peeling and preparation would be most welcome.

Feb 21 (Fri) KROFE SALE. St Mary’s Parish The Altar Society will be making krofe on Friday, February 21st (advance orders only by calling Tillie Spehar at 440-585-2299) and on Saturday, February 22nd
beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the parish hall. Don’t miss the opportunity to purchase krofe for your pre-Lenten celebrations.

Feb. 22 (Sat.) Cleveland Kurentovanje Parade & Festival – www.slovenianhome.com/kurentovanje#!  Kurentovanje is the Slovenian Mardi Gras festival of spring. The noise of the Kurents’ bells chase away winter and ring in the beginning of spring. Feb. 23 (Sun) ST. VITUS SLOVENIAN SCHOOL BENEFIT  BRUNCH will be held in the St. Vitus auditorium located on Lausche Avenue on Sunday, February 23rd from 9:30 to  12 Noon. The menu includes homemade French toast, eggs, sausage, fruit cup and homemade pastry. Cost is $10 for adults and $6 for children. Tickets may be purchased in advance from Mark Celestina (216-486-1973) or at the door on the day of the brunch. Everyone is very welcome. All proceeds will benefit St. Vitus Slovenian School.

SLOVENSKA ŠOLA SV. VIDA ima “Brunch” v nedeljo 23.februarja v avditoriju Sv.Vida od 9:30 do12:00 opoldan. Jedilnik je: domače pohane šnite, jajca, klobase, sadne kupe in domače pecivo.Cena je $10 za odrasle in $6 za otroke.
Vstopnice lahko vnaprej dobite pri Marku Celestina na (216-486-1973) ali pri vratih na dan zajtrka. Ves dohodek bo pomagal Slovenski šoli Sv. Vida. Vsi lepo vabljeni.

Feb 25 (Tue) KOLINE – FAT TUESDAY RICE & BLOOD SAUSAGE DINNER St Mary’s Parish will be on February 25th from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Music by Patty C & the Guys. Dinner features either rice or blood sausage and one garlic sausage or 3 garlic sausages. Donation is $14 for adults and $7 for children under the age of 12. This event benefits the Slovenian Cultural Garden on MLK Blvd. Everyone is welcome. Please call the rectory office at 216-761-7740 for reservations.

KOLINE-PUSTNI TOREK VEČERJA, s krvavicami, riževimi klobasami in pečenicami, je 25. februarja ob 4:30 do 7:30 zvečer. Za zabavo igrajo Patty C & the Boys. Za večerjo dobite riževo ali krvavico in eno pečenico ali 3 pečenice. Dar je $14 za odrasle in $7 za otroke pod 12 letom. Ta dogodek je v pomoč Slovenskemu kulturnem vrtu na MLK Blvd. Vsi lepo vabljeni.

Feb. 29 (Sat) Quire Cleveland, a classical choral group, at St. Vitus Church after the 4:00 p.m. Mass. They will perform “Lamentations of Jeremiah” which celebrates culture, traditions, and faith of the many immigrants who found a home in Cleveland. Refreshments served after the performance in the lower church hall.

April 14 (Tue) – Annual post-Easter Reverse Raffl e – The St. Vitus Alumni, in partnership with the St. Vitus Post 1655 Catholic War Veterans and Auxiliary at the Slovenian National Home on St. Clair Avenue. Doors open at 6 pm with dinner served at 7:30pm. Main Board tickets are $60 per person. Dinner only tickets are also available at $25 per person. ONLY 200 main board tickets will be sold. Tables of 8 or 10 can be reserved. April 19 (Sun.) – The Canadian Slovenian Historical Society will host a luncheon and program about the Slovenian Exodus of May 1945 - at Browns Line in Toronto.

April 26 (Sun.) Korotan’s spring concert will include commemoration of the passing of 75 years since the historical events which we now call the Viktring Tragedy - the cantata “Pozdravljena Zemlja” composed by Metod Milač to the lyrics written by Pavle Borštnik. Rehearsals will begin on Sunday, January 19 at 6:00 PM in St. Mary’s Hall. The Director of Orchestral Activities for the Hawaii Youth Symphony Joseph Stepec will be conducting the piece. July 10-12 Slovenefest www.slovenefest.com Slovenefest is an annual celebration of Slovenian culture. Slovenefest, a three-day event held the second weekend of July at the SNPJ Recreation Center in the Borough of SNPJ, PA, brings together thousands to enjoy the food, music, culture and fun of Slovenia. There’s never a dull moment at Slovenefest – the entertainment runs continuously from noon until late at night. Special entertainment for children is arranged throughout the weekend. Camping facilities and RV hookups are available, parking is free, and there is access to a first-aid tent.

Aug. 14 – 16 (Fri. – Sun.) National Convention of Catholic Order of Foresters-Cleveland-Aug 2020—will have its National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio. St. Vitus Church, will be the host church for its Corporate Mass on Aug. 15, 2020, the Feast of The Assumption, at an 8:30AM Mass.

Aug 30 (Sun) VISIT the Slovenian Cultural Garden – Cleveland Cultural Gardens’ 75th annual One World Day One World Day | The official event of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation since 1945 the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation has celebrated One World Day in the Gardens. This annual event reflects the theme of the Gardens: “Peace through Mutual Understanding.” One World Day is the highlight of summer events in the Gardens and the occasion at which all the Gardens get together to celebrate as one. Events include a Parade of Flags, a naturalization ceremony, cultural performances, entertainment, gardens exhibitors, authentic diverse ethnic food, guided Lolly the Trolley Tours, children’s activities, and more.

Oct. 18 (Sun.) Glasbena Matica Slovenian Singing Society celebrates its 90th anniversary season, at 3 p.m., in St. Mary’s Social Hall, Cleveland.
