Slovenia Sharpens Academic Prowess

Education Week, April 21, Slovenian education has gained international recognition by strong ranking on international tests, such as the Trends in International Mathematics and Science studies (TIMSS) or the program for International Student Assesment (PISA), reports Education Week.

Not only have Slovenians been proving physical strength, with such incredible achievements as the swim of the entire Amazon river by Martin Strel, or the first successful descent on skis from the top of the summit of Mount Everest by Davor Karničar, now the Slovenians are receiving the world attention by using their minds. 

Dr. Zvone Žigon, Consul General of Slovenia in Cleveland, explains the success with a high motivation in students to improve themselves, and to show that Slovenia, a small and rather unknown country, exists and that Slovenians are good.
