Slovenia House at the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games
For the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, the Olympic Committee of Slovenia (OCS) and the Government Communication Office (UKOM) together with the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Ottawa are organising Slovenia House, which will bring together Slovenian sport, culture, economy, tourism and promotional activities. Slovenia House will be located in the Mountain Club of the Westin Resort Hotel at the heart of Whistler Village.
Slovenia House opens its doors to the public on 11 February and will be presenting an exciting programme until the conclusion of the Winter Games. Every day between 5 and 6 pm, there will be meetings with different guests, ranging from athletes, business representatives, partners, media representative and other visitors. Slovenian athletes will be the main focus of attention at Slovenia House, where they will be able to mingle with other guests. There will be a special reception to celebrate every Slovenian medal. On Saturday, 13 February, OCS and UKOM will host the main evening event, where athletes, journalists and other visitors can taste some Slovenian wines and food. The event is on the eve of Valentine's Day, so the motto of the party is I feel Slovenia – I feel love. During the Games, the programme and events calendar will be published on the website http://www.olympic.si/ . UKOM manages the I feel Slovenia national brand and is therefore seeking to strengthen it in the area of sports, particularly taking advantage of major international events. Slovenia House and some buildings in the Olympic Village will carry the visual identity of the I feel Slovenia brand. Slovenia House will also host an exhibition of photographs of Slovenia and have a Taste Slovenia section. “We are convinced that major sporting events, particularly the Olympic Games, are an excellent opportunity to promote our country and the national brand. And this shows the respect we have for our athletes, their efforts and results, and naturally for all Slovenian fans, who are known for being good sports, and our sponsors and partners.” said Veronika Stabej, the Director of UKOM. Fans visiting Canada can visit Slovenia House and get a fan cap and banner. UKOM has also prepared a special English language publication on sport in Slovenia.

We still have almost 500 miles to go. ur advantage on the road is around 3h 30min. To get more precise result we have to add time credit and deduct penaltie. Now that even Gulewitz got time credit for being stoped at the flood is the whole time thing even more complicated. According to my assumption, we have around 4h 30min lead and that lead is hard to overcome if we continue as usual. The race is still long and anything can happen. Attention Cleveland Slovenian Skiers and SnowboardersCleveland Slovenian Ski Club is entering its third season. This year we are organizing two ski trips. The first trip is a one day ski trip to Holiday Valley, in Ellicottville, NY, on Saturday, February 7th, 2009. Cost is $75 and includes round trip motor coach to Holiday Valley and an 8 hour full access lift pass. The cost for children between the ages of 6-11 is $65. Slovenian gymnast 1st in history to score over 1,000 pointsBELGRADE, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Slovenia's Mitja Petkovsek has become the first gymnast in history to gather over 1,000 points in World Cup rankings, the International Federation of Gymnastics (FIG) said on Wednesday.
