Volunteers Needed for New Slovenian Children's Library

Bookmark and Share

Volunteers NeededThe Slovenian National Library announces the Grand Opening of the new Slovenian Children's Library this September, 2009, at a convenient, easily accessible location on the northeast side of Cleveland. Volunteers are needed to help set up the Library and work with our community's children. Readers and writers, organizers and movers, carpenters and cleaner-uppers -- all ages and talents are welcome to share their love of Slovenian literature and culture with our young people

Literature, music, and culture have always played important roles to the Slovenian people. The Slovenian National Library, Inc., established in 1906, has been vital to our Slovenian community for local and world news and information and as a link to Slovenia and Slovenian culture. The new Slovenian Children's Library continues this important legacy by engaging our youngest generation and instilling a love of Slovenian literature, language and history.

As a volunteer, some knowledge of Slovenian is desirable, but not required. If you're a good worker and communicator, please get in touch. Your ideas count. Help us define what our Slovenian children need today and for the future. Our next meet date is Thursday, August 6 at 5:30 pm at the Slovenian National Library on the second floor of the St. Clair Slovenian Home. Please join us. Email us at nenca@att.net (Nena Cerer) or maespe@sbcglobal.net (Marie Engstrom).
