Ljubljana-Washington, D.C.…and Cleveland Photo Exhibit
The Slovenian Museum and Archives (SMA) was proud to present a photography exhibit titled, Ljubljana-Washington, D.C.…and Cleveland, co-sponsored by the Consulate General of the Republic of Slovenia, and the Slovenian Embassy in Washington. The exhibit showcased native Slovenian photographers whose artworks portrayed similarities between cultural and architectural points of interest in Washington, D.C. and Ljubljana. Local Slovenian artists were also featured in the exhibit, whose photographs presented their unique views of Cleveland’s landmarks and geography. Ljubljana-Washington, D.C.…and Cleveland was first shown in Cleveland at the Slovenian National Home, located at 6417 St. Clair Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44103 on February 8, 2009, during the Cultural Evening event hosted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Slovenia. The exhibit was also displayed in the Lausche Atrium of St. Mary’s Church Parish Hall, located at 15519 Holmes Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44110, from February 15 thru February 27, 2009. The exhibit was well attended and enjoyed at both venues.
